Restoring Lives Overcoming Addictions operates in The California Palms Addiction Recovery Campus. We employ multiple counselors and case managers to help ensure our clients receive the greatest care possible. All of our professional clinical staff have extensive experience in the fields of behavioral health and substance abuse. ReLOAD is affiliated with local psychiatrists, doctors of internal medicine, detox facilities, and others with specialized training. We aim to provide our clients with the most comprehensive care available in the field.

Tim Lloyd Cohagen - President

Tim Lloyd has a background in Advertising spanning the past 15 years. Recently working as the Search Marketing Manager at Acadia Healthcare/CRC Health.

Tim Lloyd worked at the 3rd largest digital ad agency in the World located in New York City, his client roster looks like a who’s who of fortune 500 clients; JP Morgan Chase, Sanofi Lantas, The United States Army, Denny’s restaurants, Gucci, Coca-Cola just to name a few.

After the brutal murder of a cousin by a heroin addict and drug dealer, Tim Lloyd has dedicated is experience in healthcare to getting anyone seeking treatment help.

Brandy Lewis

Brandy is a veteran who served in the Army. Brandy has three years experience assisting those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. At the Palms, Brandy specializes in assisting veterans with all their case management needs.Cool Title

DANIEL A. WINKLE, MD

Dr. Winkle is a licensed medical doctor with nine years experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Dr. Winkle teaches an eight-week evidence-based Mind Body Skills Group for healing psychological trauma and stress. Dr. Winkle is certified to teach the program from The Center for Mind-Body Medicine. The program includes, breathing, meditation, guided visual imagery, biofeedback, self-awareness, dance, self-expression in words, drawings, and movement in classroom sessions and supportive, small group. Dr. Winkle is affiliated with Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and Valleycare Northside Medical Center.

 

COREY COTTON, LPCC-S, M.S.Ed.

Corey is a state licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Supervisor (LPCC-S). Corey has a Master of Science, in Psychology from Youngstown State University and a bachelors in psychology from YSU. Corey has nine years experience in the behavioral health and substance abuse field. Corey has extensive experience in group dynamics treating substance abuse, chemical dependency, addiction, and mental health counseling. At the Palms, Corey specializes in group therapy related to substance abuse and individual therapy concerning mental health counseling of veterans undergoing treatment, within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

MARK GALLOT, LICDC, M.S.Ed.

Mark is a state licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). Mark has a Master of Science in Education, with a Specialization in Counseling, from Youngstown State University and a bachelors in psychology from Hiram College. Mark is a veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps. Mark has sixteen years personal recovery experience and thirteen years experience in the behavioral health and substance abuse field. At the Palms, Mark specializes in individual care related to substance abuse and chemical dependency.

 

DENISE MINCHER, LPCC, NCP, M.S.Ed.

Denise is a state licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), and Nationally Certified Psychologist (NCP). Denise has a Master of Science in Education Counseling from Youngstown State University and a bachelors in psychology from YSU. Denise has twenty-two years experience in the behavioral health and substance abuse field. At the Palms, Denise specializes in assessment, treatment planning and collaborative care of veterans undergoing treatment, within a multi-disciplinary team setting.

 

DR. GEORGE G. ELLIS, JR., M.D.

Dr. Ellis is a licensed medical doctor with thirty-two years experience in internal medicine. Dr. Ellis has been working in private practice since 1992 and began his own solo practice in Boardman in 1999. Dr. Ellis brings over 20 years of Emergency Room experience and care at hospitals such as St. Elizabeth Health Center and the Cleveland Clinic. In mid-2014, Dr. Ellis launched the area’s first locally owned and operated urgent care, 910 RapidCare, located conveniently in Boardman, Ohio. Dr. Ellis is affiliated with the Palms providing medical services at his offices to veterans undergoing treatment at the Palms.

DR. HOLLY MAGGIANO, M.D.

Dr. Maggiano is a state licensed medical doctor with twenty-eight years experience specializing in neurology. Dr. Maggiano has training in horticulture therapy and is co-founder of Earth Angel Farm which uses horticulture to assist individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. At the Palms, Dr. Maggiano teaches a horticulture therapy group introducing greenhouse practices to veterans undergoing treatment.

RICK STEPHAN, Ph.D.

Rick is a neuropsychologist and licensed clinical psychologist specialized in cognitive training, philosophical psychology and psychotherapeutic interventions based on the mind-body connection and applied psychophysiology. He received his clinical training from the Neuropsychiatry Department of UC San Diego and the Mount Sinai Medical School and Hospital in Manhattan. He earned his Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology.

 

DR. KAREN GIORGETTI, Ph.D

Dr. Giorgetti is professor of psychology at YSU with a PhD in psychology, a Masters degree from Purdue University and a bachelors in psychology from Sweet Briar College. Dr. Giorgetti has thirteen years experience in the behavioral health and substance abuse field. She has extensive knowledge of individual counseling and treatment of mental health disorders. Dr. Giorgetti works part time at the Palms specializing in individual counseling treating mental health disorders, and psychological testing, evaluation and assessment of veterans undergoing treatment.


PASTOR JULIA WIKE, LSW

Pastor Julia is a Licensed Social Worker and an Ordained Minister. Pastor Julia Wike earned her bachelors in Social Work from Youngstown State University. Pastor Julia received her Ministerial Credentials Licensure in September 2005 and her Official Certification of Ordination by the United Christian Church & Ministerial Association in January 2013. Pastor Julia has thirty one years of personal recovery experience and over twenty years working in various pastoral and professional capacities involving mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse. At the Palms, Pastor Julia specializes in conducting a Sunday Morning Non-Denominational Service for the Veterans.


DANIEL EPSTEIN, MS, LMHC

Daniel is a licensed psychotherapist. He received his degree from The Center of Psychological Studies at NSU. He has significant experience in substance abuse treatment and has a special interest in treating veterans who are struggling with purpose and direction. He has built a reputation for creating and delivering group curricula that are effective, engaging, and enjoyable. His individual and group therapies embody the practical application of neuroscience.


Jeremy Mason

Adam is a decorated VETERAN marine with multiple combat tours in the middle east. At the Palms we recognize the impact the human-animal bond can have on individual health. Adam manages the PTSD dog therapy program, which builds a bond and dynamic relationship between veterans and their dog and positively influences the health and well-being of the veteran. Each veteran with serious PTSD is given the opportunity to train his own dog and take it with him upon graduating from his care. Adam also manages the Palms an off-site equine therapy program.

CHARLES PARKER, CDCA, MBS, M.S.Ed.

Charles is a state licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant with a Master of Arts in Theology from Franciscan University and a bachelor's in psychology from Youngstown State University, where he learned the theoretical basis of addictions and the ability to clinically assess and diagnose individuals with substance-related problems. At the Palms, Charles specializes in assisting veterans with group therapy and case management needs.


SAM NAPLES, Grand Master

Grand Master Naples is an eighth degree master in Tae Kwon Do with over forty years’experience teaching the art. Master Naples has a bachelors in psychology from Youngstown State University and is certified in hypnotherapy. At the Palms, Grand Master Naples teaches the art of Tae Kwon Do for personal development to veterans in recovery.


ELIZABETH BECKLEY

Elizabeth manages the OhioCan chapter in Trumbull County. Elizabeth has ten years experience assisting those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. Has a peer specialist certification with OhioCan and is certified by SMART Recovery. At the Palms, Elizabeth specializes in assisting veterans secure treatment at the Palms, including assisting veterans with all their case management needs.ery.


CAROL HUCKNIS

Carol’s background as a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher imparts a rich blend of movement experience to her students. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts from Smith College and has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 20 years. Carol is certified in three well-known yoga methods: Kripalu Yoga from Kripalu Yoga Center, an Anusura-influenced practice certified by Willow Street, and most recently Yin Yoga. An easy-going teacher, Carol is nonjudgmental in her teaching approach. Her yoga classes are very gentle, great for the beginner and inviting for all levels.


LARRY TROMBITAS, Master

Larry is a master of Tai Ruach (Tai Chi) with over thirty years experience teaching the art. Larry is a veteran who served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Larry has twenty years personal recovery experience. At the Palms, Larry teaches the art of Tai Ruach (Tai Chi) to veterans in recovery.
